What is Triple Win?

Triple Win is a community-centered makerspace designed to support students, entrepreneurs, and the broader community through shared access to tools, space, and education. Our facility includes fully equipped shops for woodworking, metal fabrication, screen printing, graphics and textiles, lasers, ceramics, and 3D printing—providing the resources needed to design, build, and create across disciplines.

Beyond the tools themselves, Triple Win is built around collaboration and real-world learning. Through classes, camps, tenant businesses, and hands-on projects, the space functions as an ecosystem where education, entrepreneurship, and community engagement strengthen one another.

Our History

Triple Win Waco in Waco began as a student-driven workforce initiative built around authentic, real-world projects. The concept took shape when local students partnered with Waco Pedal Tours to design and build a custom pedal bike after the company’s original unit failed. That collaboration demonstrated a powerful model: students earned wages and hands-on technical experience, businesses received meaningful solutions, and educators facilitated applied learning. From that foundation, Triple Win formalized into a structured apprenticeship and makerspace program connecting students directly to industry needs.

As the program expanded, Triple Win developed a broader workforce-training model centered on fabrication, CAD design, welding, entrepreneurship, food service, and creative arts. Students have completed paid apprenticeships while earning industry credentials such as OSHA certifications and technical software training. The organization relocated to a larger campus at 1211 Webster Avenue in South Waco, transforming a former industrial facility into a community makerspace that includes fabrication labs, creative studios, a commissary kitchen, and collaborative workspaces. The Webster campus reflects Triple Win’s long-term strategy: blending education, entrepreneurship, and community development into one integrated ecosystem.

Over time, Triple Win students have contributed to high-visibility community projects, including fabrication builds for local startups, downtown vendor market structures, food truck operations, and public art initiatives in partnership with groups like Creative Waco. Today, Triple Win operates as both an apprenticeship hub and a youth-focused makerspace, offering after-school programs, summer camps, and workforce pipelines designed to prepare students for skilled trades, creative industries, and entrepreneurship. Its continued mission is to create measurable value for students, schools, and businesses alike — delivering a true “triple win” for the Waco community.

Meet the Team

Mikey smiling in the wood shop

Mikey

Mikey has been part of Triple Win since the summer of 2021, back when the space looked very different. As the makerspace grew rapidly in 2022, Mikey became one of the key forces helping it evolve into what it is today. He originally connected to Triple Win through mentorship in a robotics club, which quickly turned into a deeper role as the space expanded. Mikey is the go-to expert for 3D printing, CNC wood routing, and woodworking, and if a project involves a CNC machine, Mikey is usually the person making it happen! Outside the shop, Mikey is into hobby photography, film, and analog processes.
